The facts in this book have come from many different sources, a list of references can be found at the end. I hope that this gives some elements of structure and sense to a project that could easily become a bit of a monster! I have tried to cover all the major areas of the war in separate sections, you will see areas such as the air war, trench warfare, casualties, and each of the major belligerents covered in their own separate sections.
